I'm Still Alive... I think...

Hello all! I'm just here to say, I'm still alive, if just barley. I've finally passed through my second week of school, and already it feels as if I've been there FOREVER! And even though it's a long weekend, I won't be doing much to enjoy it, due to the mass amount of homework I received... Sigh... Do teacher's think that we have nothing better to do with our lives? I swear, they expect me to spend every minute of my day doing school related things.

The only reason I'm still partly sane is mainly due to books. I finally read Mockingjay, and though It failed a little in my expectations, that was due to the fact that it was too short. It could have been totally better if we could of even had 100 more pages. Too bad Suzanne Collins has a 400 page limit for her books. I do still love the series, and I'm totally going to read Mockingjay again. :D

I also discovered a new series that I love! The first book is called Green Rider by Kristen Britain, and I fell in love with it as soon as I began. I'm too lazy to post my own synopsis so I'm going to post the one from the author's website:

"On her long journey home from school after a fight which will surely lead to her expulsion, Karigan G'ladheon ponders her future as she trudges through the immense forest called Green Cloak. But her thoughts are interrupted by the clattering of hooves as a galloping horse bursts from the woods, the rider slumped over his mount's neck, impaled by two black-shafted arrows. As the young man lies dying on the road, he tells Karigan that he is a Green Rider, one of the legendary messengers of the king, and that he bears a "life and death" message for King Zachary. He begs Karigan to carry his message, warning her not to read it, and when she reluctantly agrees, he makes her swear on his sword to complete his mission "for love of country." As he bestows upon her the golden winged-horse brooch which is the symbol of his office, he whispers on his dying breath, "Beware the shadow man..."

"Karigan's promise changes her life forever. Pursued by unknown assassins, following a path only her horse seems to know, and accompanied by the silent specter of the original messenger, she herself becomes a legendary Green Rider. Caught up in a world of deadly danger and complex magic, compelled by forces she cannot understand, Karigan

is hounded by dark beings bent on seeing that the message, and its reluctant carrier, never reach their destination."

So I finished all of the books within a week... probably not the best thing to do when I had so much homework... but It was a lot funner. :D I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out which is coming out on Feb. 1st. If you are curious about the series, the books are (in order) The Green Rider, The First Rider's Call, and The High King's Tomb.

Oh, I also got asked to Homecoming, but whether or not I'll go is the question... Jason, my swing partner from last year, was the one who asked me... He was also coincidentally my trek brother. I don't know... sigh... The situation's complicated for me, and I'm not going to put it on here for all to see.... But those who know me well will know my predicament. If you don't know, and curiosity is gnawing at your bones, feel free to email me or text.

Anyhow... I'd better go and help my mom... we have guests over... sigh... I just want some QUITE TIME! Is that too much to ask?
